When the Vancouver Giants went for looking for the best, they chose Brett Jaeger. When OCM went looking for the best, they too chose Brett Jaeger.
Ten years ago, the Vancouver Giants entered the WHL and began searching for their first goalie. They chose Brett Jaeger. An exceptional goalie with experience in both the AJHL (Drayton Valley Thunder and Viking Cup team AJHL member in 1999) and WHL (Medicine Hat Tigers 2000), Brett was an obvious choice. He spent three years in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and Saskatoon Blades, during which time he won the Giants’ 3 star voting award and was named Playoff MVP for the Blades.
After his Junior Career, Brett began playing professionally with the Fresno Falcons in the ECHL, the San Jose Sharks affiliate. Brett set franchise records for the Falcons and played in the 2006 ECHL All Star game, leading his team to the conference finals. He has attended NHL camp with the Edmonton Oilers and AHL camp with the Cleveland Barons, the San Jose farm team.
For the past three years Brett has played with the CHL Texas Brahmas. He has set franchise records in wins, GAA, and save percentage and has lead the Brahmas to the CHL championship. Brett was also voted “runner up” for goalie of the year by CHL coaches and GM’s. In 2009, Brett was the top 3 star leader among CHL goalies and was in 5th place overall among players. Brett attended last fall’s Houston Aeros (Minnesota Wild Affiliate) training camp and was recalled by the Aero’s in late October 2009! Brett played for the Coventry Blaze in the British Elite Hockey League in 2010 then signed up to play in the Danish first division for the 2011/2012 season. Currently Brett is playing in the German 2nd Divisions; Fischtown Pinguins.
Brett is an invaluable member of the OCM team. An elite goalie and an outstanding teacher, Brett provides all of our goalie training in both our hockey and goalie specific programs.
